Condemning terror attack in Finsbury Park, London

Salamun Alaykum /Greetings of Peace,

It is truly shocking to learn of the terrorist attack on pedestrians which took place in the early hours of today outside the Muslim Welfare House at Finsbury Park, Seven Sisters Road, North London. This act of terror targeting worshippers returning home from the Ramadhan Prayers is appalling and strongly condemned.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the person who has died and those that have been injured, their families and friends. We pray for the injured to make a swift recovery. We hope that the perpetrator(s) will face the full course of justice.
During these anxious moments we call for calm, patience and prayers. It is essential that the aims of the terrorists seeking to sow hatred and divide the community is not allowed to succeed. Certainly, these acts of violence, voices of bigotry, fear and hatred should not be allowed to divide us. We must deny them these goals.
In keeping with the essence of Islam, let us continue to build relationships within our communities and demonstrate our values of humanity, compassion and love.
