Condemning the London Attacks

Salamun Alaykum/Greetings of peace,

We are appalled and deeply saddened by the attacks at London Bridge and
Borough Market, in London, which took place on Saturday evening 3rd June,
2017. These acts of terror, the third time in as many months, are  truly
shocking and we condemn them in the strongest terms.

The fact that the London attacks are carried out in the month of Ramadhan,
when Muslims around the world are devoted towards praying, fasting, charity
and compassion only goes to undoubtedly demonstrate that these evil persons
respect neither life nor faith.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families and friends.
We pray for the injured to make a swift recovery. We commend the work of our
Police and Emergency services.

We wish to firmly re-iterate that we should not allow these acts of
violence, voices of  bigotry, fear and hatred to divide us. Certainly this
will deny victory to these evil persons and their ideologies. Let us
continue to build relationships within our communities and demonstrate our
values of humanity, compassion and love.

With salams and duas,

Sheikh Fazle Abbas Datoo
